About Us
The McGovern Ceili Dancers philosophy is that while Irish dance is a vigorous and demanding form of dance, it can be experienced in an atmosphere that is relaxed, supportive and most importantly, fun. We were founded in June of 1999 and have gone from 6 dancers meeting one night a week to over 80 dancers and 4 locations in Ohio andIndiana. We are comprised of female and male dancers whose ages range from 4 to adulthood.

The McGovern Ceili Dancers are now accepting new students of all ages in all of our locatons!
Learn how to do reels, jigs and more through lessons that are available for students ages 4 and up.

Placement in any class is at the discretion of the instructor.

Performance & Competitions
All members of MCD will have numerous opportunities to perform and ALL of our dancers that have the desire to perform get the opportunity. Dancers are not required to compete but will be encouraged to try! So far our dancers have won over 300 awards and have traveled to Santa Fe , New Mexico, Hershey PA, South Hampton PA, Shawnee OK, San Francisco CA, and Dublin Ireland for the World Championships!

We will be hosting our own feile here in Dayton OH on August 11, 2012 at the Antioch Shrine. Dancers from all affiliations are welcome to take part in this Irish Dance competition.

Thanks to everyone who came to Shelagh Feile 2012. You made the event a great success! It was a fierce but friendly competition, with an exceptionally high quality of dancing and "dancemanship" among the competitors.
